BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, non-surgical procedure that relaxes glabellar lines for up to 4 months. Botox is a natural, purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. It is injected in the brow area where hyper-functional muscles cause facial lines to form - relaxing the muscles and smoothing the lines. Patients report high rates of appearance improvement in the glabellar lines. No anesthesia is needed, but it may be helpful to numb the area with a topical anesthetic.Within days, patients see a marked relaxation of glabellar lines. Clinical data show that lines continue to improve for up to a week, and improvement lasts for up to 4 months.
